Our priority is to raise awareness for Aaron and his family as they go through this difficult time, your support in this event is greatly appreciated. The more people we reach with this information, the more we can assist this terrific karate-ka.

I am sure many of you can relate and empathize with this situation both as Senseis and as parents.  Aaron is one of my oldest and most dear students, who has been very close to me in the dojo and out; a close friend of my kids.

After he began to lose vision in one of his eyes, he was seen by neurologic ophthalmologists who recommend that he go for further testing which is when the tumor was discovered.

After the tumor was removed on December 27th, the tests revealed that it was not only malignant but also an extremely rare form of brain cancer named EPENDYMOMA.

Because of the uncommon nature of the tumor and the location, the prognosis is not known.  The doctors are unsure of the type of treatment he will have to undergo and further testing, including a spinal tap, before he begins treatments.

We, as a dojo family, are embracing Aaron and his family and through the seminar on February 18th and 19th with Sensei Alejandro, many other members of our karate family are able to reach out to Aaron too.  I hope that some of you will be able to attend and participate in this event and that you will get to meet Aaron and his family.

We now have a new coffee shop in our dojo that is especially designed for our parents as they come to see their children practice karate.  It is a cozy nook for you to enjoy a warm cup of coffee, a Japanese tea or a refreshing exotic beverage. Free WI-FI for our family members is also offered to allow you to complete work or simply pass the time.

You can choose from a variety of coffees and teas from all over the world to satisfy your taste while your child is in class...
