Sensei Ernesto Fuentes
Head Instructor
International 4th Dan

Sensei Ernesto Fuentes, Born in Venezuela.  He became a USA citizen in 2010. Earned his International Instructor Certification under Master Hirokatzu Kanazawa in 1997 in Okinawa, Japan.  He is a class “B” Pan-American judge in The National Karate Federation
In addition to his karate certifications and titles, Sensei Fuentes has a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management with a minor in Neuro­-Lingustics, an undergraduate degree in Legal Studies and extensive studies in Child Psychology. He has taught karate for more than 27 years and has been working and forming close relationships for over 7 years in the area school systems.  He has owned and operated Keiko Shin Karate Academy for 7 years in this current location.





Gerrita  Morris-Fuentes
Speech Pathologist

Gerrita  Morris-Fuentes, a native Floridian, earned her Bachelor of Arts and her Master of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders from The University of Florida in 1991 and 1993, respectively.  She has been a licensed and certified Speech-Language Pathologist for 18 years.  Mrs. Fuentes has worked in private practices, skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, private schools and the public school system.  She has extensive studies in dysphagia as well as disorders of language, voice and phonological development.  She is currently the President of Dysphagia Solutions Inc. as well as an active staff member at Keiko Shin Karate Academy.




Sempai Alejandro Fuentes
International 2nd Dan

Sempai Alejandro Fuentes is the oldest son of Sensei Fuentes.  He was born in Venezuela and has lived in the United States since he was 8 years old.  He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Wiregrass Ranch High School and he is currently in his sophomore year at The University of South Florida.  Alex earned his Black Belt in Shotokan Karate in 2005 and has been an active co-instructor and coach at Keiko Shin Karate Academy since that time. 
He trained in karate under some of the most well recognized karate legends, Sensei Nobuaki Kanazawa, Teruyuki Okazaki, Master Ochi, Master Field (from Los Angeles) and Master Won-A-Tai (from Hawaii), he was the champion at the Good Will Games in Pennsylvania and has been a National Champion for 5 years in the 2 most traditional Karate-do circuits in the USA. He enjoys training the athletes as well as himself to reach the top physical potential.
